Memory Lane.

"I hate Friday's!" Ben proclaims, chagrin deep in his tone. "Everyone's out tonight and I'm stuck at home, wanting to go to Wawa and pick up some egg nog".

The word Friday sparked an immediate idea to brighten up his mood. And mine too, for that matter. So I click around a little bit and find myself at YouTube's beck and call: "yeah I need this song for my beloved, do you have it?" Seconds drift by, going unnoticed, and out comes my answer: Montell Jordan's This Is How We Do It.

Laugh, it's okay.

But seriously, this is such a great song and it always puts you in a great mood. It's one of those bring you back to the 90's when life seemed a lot less complicated because you were too young to notice otherwise songs.

After listening to this song, I stumbled upon a slew of old songs that I used to love back in the day. And by back in the day I mean during middle and high school. With each new song came the spark of a different memory. Weird how songs and smells can do that to you, huh?

Anyway, I've decided to make a list of the songs and post them on here with hope that they will take you down memory lane just as they did for me.

Some Way Through This by The Black Ghosts

This is one of my favorite songs by this band. The Black Ghosts, hailing from London, have such a wide variety of musical style all crammed into one album. I first discovered them in the Fall of 2007 when they only had two songs on iTunes, which had to satisfy my needs until the rest of their album was released. Popular for their song Full Moon, which is featured on the Twilight soundtrack, they know how to touch each and every mood one could be feeling. Everyone should consider checking them out.

The Top Five: Song's I Refuse To Stop Listening To

1. "Lies" by Save Ferris And we should all ask ourselves at some point over the next 3.5 seconds just exactly what happened to ska anyway? Because seriously, it ALWAYS makes me happy; even the "sad" ska songs are so effing upbeat, how could you not be happy regardless of the songs' subject matter? Bring ska back. 2. "Excuse Me Mr." by No Doubt Okay let me just say that Tragic Kingdom is my all-time favorite album of all times. It literally touches on every emotion one could have. Even if a song doesn't appear to portray any particular emotion, that whole 'read between the lines' saying comes into play in many of their songs, alla track 16: Tragic Kingdom. 3. "Faxing Berlin" by Deadmau5 This is my favorite DJ and his music is mainly a progressive house genre. This song just puts me in a relaxed mood, which in terms of house music could range from anywhere from top to bottom of the chart. Anyone who listens to house understands what I'm trying to convey. Listen to this song. 4. "Teardrop" by Massive Attack Such a fantastic song. I've seen this 'band' live and they put on one hell of a visual show. An ex-boyfriend turned me onto them and I haven't been able to put them down ever since. This song in particular has a lot of emotion behind it. It's perfect for any number of situations one could be in. It's portrays a vibe of its own for which the listener can then examine, determine, and do with it what they may. Beautiful song. 5. "Til The Dawn" by Drew Sidora You might recognize this from a group-dance scene in the movie Step Up. I loved this song because it just makes me feel fucking great! Dancing to this song -- especially in my apartment like a big geek-freak -- is so much fun! It puts me in this positive mood. Get on it.
