South Mountain Summit.

"All I can hear is the murmur of cars down below" Ben said, as we sat in my car at the summit of South Mountain this chilly November evening.

The view from the top of the mountain is certainly something to see, particularly Dobbins Lookout. I've only been up there a handful of times, but each time some sort of philosophical spark seems to ignite my thoughts.

A flood of speculation nearly swallowed up my mind as the two of us sat there, beneath the stars, looking outward to the north and east. Being up there always reminds of just how small I am in comparison to the world and how lucky I am to be apart of something so grand; so beautiful.

Watching an entire city functioning right before your eyes is so bizarre in a way. I couldn't help but pay attention to I-10 & AZ-60, wondering where all of those people were going. Were they driving home to their families, running errands, rushing to a night class, or simply out for a Monday evening drive? Thousands of lights could be seen all around the valley, sparkling like an on ocean of glitter.

Product Review: Bumpit!

Being the Jersey girl that I am, I absolutely love having 'big hair'. I've always prided myself in my mane and the fact that I've been able to maintain a current style that always looks good. So of course when I saw the Bumpit product advertised on TV several months back I knew I had to get it. Well, this past weekend my Arizona best friend calls me up while she's at work (which she would never ever normally do) just to tell me that Walgreen's is now carrying the Bumpit for $9.99. I was super excited so I immediately ran out the door and bought two, one for each of us to try. Upon arrive home, I opened the box up, pulled out all the nifty stuff that it came with, and tried it right out. It seemed to stay in place.... a little. But once you pull your hair over the top of it like in the instructions say to, they kinda fall in between the crevices, which then stick out. The instructions on the video say to tease your hair a little bit before you actually insert the Bumpit, but they fail to actually show the hair being teased how they suggest it, thus making it nearly impossible to figure it out. If you know how to do hair then you should be fine, but it requires far more effort just to sustain the stability of the damn contraption than it does to just tease your hair without using the Bumpit. So with that being said, I'm giving this product an A for effort but a C- for accuracy. It just doesn't do what it says it will do. Although I have found some helpful how-to videos on YouTube, but even so, it still just pays to tease your own hair without it. Save your $10 ladies!!

The Sweetness.

While running errands today out by Miree's neck of the woods, which is only about 10 miles east of here, located in a different part of Mesa, I had the luxury of smelling a very sweet scent. I've caught whiff's of it here and there in my part of Mesa (I live on the Mesa-Tempe border) but nothing like today. The scent I'm referring to is the Orange Blossom. At first I thought it was honey suckles but everyone kept assuring me that it was the orange blossom. We have tons of orange blossom groves around here and when they pollinate they release such a wonderful smell. Theres orange trees everywhere around here which makes me appreciate living here. Definitely something you can't have in New Jersey.
