Sat·is·fac·tion
Today was yet another gorgeous day -- it could have been a little warmer but beggars cannot be choosers. I only went to Staples today to pick up some Sharpies. But of course I ended up getting a nice tin package of graphite drawing/sketching pencils. The package contained different degrees of lead including 4H, 3H, 2H, H, F, HB [standard #2 pencil], B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, & 6B. To most people that sounds absolutely ridiculous but basically a 4H is an extremely hard lead but it's also a very light colored lead as well. Where as 6B is light in weight and heavy in color. It's ridiculous that they can make that many different types of lead but as an artist myself, it's most necessary to have.
I thought my sun burn was limited to just my ass but unfortunately I discovered up waking up this morning that it was, to a lesser extent, also on the back of my legs and lower pelvic area [beneath my belly button and above the va-jay-jay area]. Some areas that were already tan are simply less red but the feeling of sun burn is lurking around those various areas. I haven't had sun burn in years or have it this bad pretty much ever. So I'm not too sure how this will last. Everyone says as long as I keep my skin extremely moisturized then it should only last 2 days or so. I'm hoping that is the truth, however, I can anticipate that certain spots will require more time to heal. I just want to be get the stinking part over with. I thought I was going to die today when I was driving to and from Staples, and again when I went to Wawa with Frank. It was a horrible experience. Haha.
The extent of my day was spent working on several drawings. One drawing is not quite finished but it looks pretty bad ass. I can't say what it's of yet because it's for a friend who I'm going to see in Arizona and I cannot give it away via this blog. All I know is that I get so much pleasure out of drawing for my friends. I know I'm not the best artist but I enjoy dabbling in various forms of art and it's just a nice form of escape. When I first started drawing and I refused to get up for hours on end, even to smoke a cigarette, I knew that it was going to be what helped me quit. BINGO. All you have to do is replace one addiction with another -- a healthy addiction of course. :-)
Tomorrow night in Manhattan @ Cielo -- Benny Benassi spinning from 10pm until 4am -- and I will be there pumpin' my Jersey girl fist and dancing like it's my job. I haven't seen Benny spin yet so this is going to be very exciting. What's funny about this is that I've always liked house music, particularly if it were on the radio or in someone's car, but I never put forth the effort to learn the DJ's names, get into the various types of house music (trance, techno, drum & bass, etc) until about 6 months ago. I just fell in love with the music one random day. Even working at a night club in Atlantic City only slightly sparked my interest to get into it furthermore.
A lot of people from South Jersey aren't exactly into this "scene" of all night raves, ecstasy, loud expressive music that vibrate your entire existence. I'm not into the drug portion of the scene but I love everything else. I just love the music and I love how free you can feel when listening to it. I sometimes wonder if my parents think I actually engage in such activities because of the music, but I'm pretty sure they know I'm high on life so I don't really need to get hopped up on something to feel good or have a wild time. I was born wild so that's reason enough for me to not get into that stuff. Anyway, my point was simply that it's not so easy to find people from South Jersey who enjoy the music.
It's also difficult to find a good club in this area that plays house music. Worship in Atlantic City, however, does have a seriously good DJ (who's name I have yet to find out) that spins amazing house. Worship is also open until 8am every Sunday morning and is now the only after-hours club in AC. Club True used to be open until noon the next day but too many bad things went down which caused it to get shut down. I was at Worship last Saturday night with Ryan and we stayed there until nearly 6am. The DJ spun so well that could not help but stay and listen. I hope I can find out his name soon because I'd like to buy some of his music.
But anyway, I'm calling it a night early for once, and yes 2:30am is early for me. Until next time ;-)

Oh man, sunburn on the ass? That does not sound fun.
Also, ecstasy is on the short list of drugs I would like to someday try. But I don't like that music. We're opposites!
It's not like I'm not interested in trying it but I'm just too afraid to take that type of chance ya know?
The sunburn is getting much better -- THANK GOD...lol.
