iPhone 2.0

Okay, so the big day is here - the release of Apple's iPhone 2.0. Honestly, I think its a great design and a great product. However, as a Palm Treo user, I have to say that a lot of the applications that Apple has been boasting about have been there, done that with Palm. I've been using a Palm phone for the last 5 1/2 years and I know that prior to the iPhone craze, that Palm had nearly all the same applications. Including a bank-book managing app, Facebook, MySpace, blogging apps, weather apps, e-book apps, GPS/Navigation, and the list is virtually endless. Although it seems that I am merely dissing on the new iPhone because I don't have one or because it appears to be "cooler" but the reality of it is that I'm not all that impressed with how Apple claims to be so premier with everything related to their super trendy iPhone. The only thing the iPhone has on Palm is the price which is $199+tax per phone. I paid $650 for my first Palm phone and $600 for my second and I don't regret spending that much on cell phones solely because it had the latest technology and was among the elite with other smartphones. I've always used my Palm phones for everything that their worth including all of their excellent applications which Apple currently attempts to claim the pioneering limelight. Well, ya know what Apple, go right ahead and sit in the limelight, take all the praise you want because it will not change the simple fact that Palm did it first and you don't have everyone and their mother carrying around such a prestigious cell phone like you do with Apple.
