Talk About Ridiculous!

This happened at my stepdad's job this morning! My mom called me this morning and told me about it. Included are the article from NBC and the accompanying link to the video broadcast.

VINELAND - It was an apparently rocky relationship that turned fatal inside a mobile phone store. Police say it happened before about 9:30 this morning at Mac Donald Communications on the corner of Landis and Main avenues in Vineland. 48–year–old Richard Soltysiak allegedly came to the workplace of his on and off–again girlfriend 49–year–old Susan Freck, and shot her in the head. Police say he then turned the gun and fatally shot himself in the head. Police say a customer discovered the scene by peering beyond a locked door and noticing a pool of blood. "She was a very good person, a sweetheart. I don't understand, she didn't deserve that," says a woman that worked at the jewelry store next door who says she frequently spoke with Freck. Police busted a hole in the glass door as paramedics came in to airlift Freck to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. "You know what I have no words," says a man that did not want to identify himself, "Sue is a very dear friend of me and my wife. Our sons are best friends. Oh my God I just hope that she's okay." Jack Mastrangelo has known Soltysiak for a long time and says the couple was currently broken up. "He'd go away on vacation for 3 or 4 days and she wouldn't know where he went. So I guess that just got to him and to her. So she split up with him. This was like half a dozen times they got back together," says Mastrangelo. Police say both Freck and Soltysiak live in Buena Vista Twp. As of late Monday afternoon Freck was listed in critical condition, but according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Ronald Casella physicians say there maybe signs she could be improving.

Apparently, the boyfriend walked into the store very quietly, locked the door behind him, punched Sue in the face with either his fist or the gun (their not sure) and then shot her in the back of her neck. My mom told me that he pointed the gun downwards on her neck and pulled the trigger. Apparently two of her teeth were knocked out and she choked on one of them. Once he shot her and he pulled the gun on himself. The bullet which he shot her with cannot be removed from her body because it could cause more damage than what's already been done. I really hope she has a full recovery in due time. My mom said the reason they were broken up was because he was always drinking thus causing all sorts of other problems. The worst part is that Sue has a 15 year old son. I don't even know how any person would or could do something so violent. At least the boyfriend is dead and can no longer do anymore harm to Sue or her family. It's almost unfathomable how one's life can be changed in a matter of seconds.
