Product Review: Bumpit!
Being the Jersey girl that I am, I absolutely love having 'big hair'. I've always prided myself in my mane and the fact that I've been able to maintain a current style that always looks good. So of course when I saw the Bumpit product advertised on TV several months back I knew I had to get it.
Well, this past weekend my Arizona best friend calls me up while she's at work (which she would never ever normally do) just to tell me that Walgreen's is now carrying the Bumpit for $9.99. I was super excited so I immediately ran out the door and bought two, one for each of us to try.
Upon arrive home, I opened the box up, pulled out all the nifty stuff that it came with, and tried it right out. It seemed to stay in place.... a little. But once you pull your hair over the top of it like in the instructions say to, they kinda fall in between the crevices, which then stick out.
The instructions on the video say to tease your hair a little bit before you actually insert the Bumpit, but they fail to actually show the hair being teased how they suggest it, thus making it nearly impossible to figure it out. If you know how to do hair then you should be fine, but it requires far more effort just to sustain the stability of the damn contraption than it does to just tease your hair without using the Bumpit.
So with that being said, I'm giving this product an A for effort but a C- for accuracy. It just doesn't do what it says it will do. Although I have found some helpful how-to videos on YouTube, but even so, it still just pays to tease your own hair without it. Save your $10 ladies!!
