It's the small things in life.

The odometer on my 1996 Honda Civic just reached 173,000 miles. It had about 50,000 miles when my mom gave it to me on my 17th birthday, October 23, 2001, and I've got to say that I love my car. As much as I'd love to have a brand new car, nothing can compare to the memories I've had in my car. It's quite funny how something so simple as a 12 year old car can mean so much to a person. In October of last year my mom signed the car over to me and its legally mine. It is my biggest and most prized possession. This car is the chariot that which has taken me to all of my most desired destinations and sometimes even to my least desired destinations. I hope that other people can treasure something for what its really worth on the inside rather than what its worth on the outside just as I do with my car.

I wish I could give me car a big hug and thank it for safely getting me clear across this country, but I can't really hug it per say, but I can continue to take good care of it and cherish it which can be my 'hug'. If anyone out there has something like this, take a good look at whatever it may be and realize that you've got so much more than most people, even if it's not top-of-the-line or brand new, you've got it and how you treat it and use it is what really counts.
