New Addition.
As of 12 o'clock noon today, I am the proud owner of a lovely Lilac Point Siamese baby girl! She is 2 years old and just so precious! She the prettiest blue eyes which are crossed! Not every Siamese has crossed eyes band this will be my first to have them. She also has the kink at the end of her tail which is a true sign of a siamese. Lilac Point Siamese have lighter gray points. My new baby looks similar to ones in the pictures below.
Today I went and purchased an absolutely adorable bed for her, a collar and matching leash, a kitty box complete with the privacy of a hood, food, litter, toys, a brush, and some other goodies. She's going to live very lavishly in comparison to what she's used to. I hope she really likes living with us and being apart of our family.
I chose to get a 2 year old cat versus a kitten because her chances of getting a home over the kittens' chances are much lower. She was so sweet & relaxed. I know she's been waiting patiently for the right people to come give her a loving home and I'm so happy it's going to me. Siamese cats are a family tradition and just about everyone has had or still has a Siamese. I have a 6 month old Seal Point Siamese at home in New Jersey. Growing up I had a Seal Point Siamese who passed away two years old. It took me a very long time to get over her death; which proves just how important pets are and how much they bring to a family (of any size).
Fortunately Chad is also a cat person so he, too, is very excited to meet the newest, and first I might add, addition to our family. He wants to rescue a cat as well but we're going to wait until after we've returned from our trip home to do so. He'd prefer to have a male cat of a different breed, which is primarily why we're each getting a cat, to keep it fair. Plus, we'd like to rescue at least two cats.
I adopted her from the Maricopa County Animal Care & Control Center. They have three facilities around the Phoenix area, two for both dogs & cats, and then a third one solely for cats. I went to the cat adoption center and then another mixed facility in search of a Siamese to adopt. If anyone reading this can do so, please adopt/rescue a cat or dog, or both if possible.
Currently, their having a summer special: cats 6 months & older are only $25 and cats younger than 6 months are $85. Both are flat rates which include the spaying of the cat, all of their vaccines which are up to date, a huge packet of information, all of their health records, a free vet visit to the vet of your choice within the first 10 days of adoption, and a bunch of other good stuff. Every kitty and doggy need a loving family and home!
As for a name, I've chosen to name her Peaches Honey Blossom. I wanted to name her something suiting to her colors and to her in general. I know its a crazy name but I think she'll like it. The inspiration for the name came from Bob Geldof, who is an Irish singer, songwriter and political activist who became famous as a member of the rock band The Boomtown Rats. Geldof is also known for the eccentric names for his daughters -- Peaches Honey Blossom, Fifi Trixibelle, and Little Pixie. He also obtained custody of his late ex-wife's 4th child, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, after her father was found hanged in a hotel room in 1997. To say the least [in my opinion], these children have awesome names and an amazing father.
In other news, I'm an avid reader of both Perez Hilton and singer Lily Allen's blogs. The two bloggers are currently having a feud via their public blogs. Their both posting photos to make fun of each other, nasty comments, and other words of fury. I think this is so funny to watch the drama unfold between these two. He's hating on her and she's hating on him for hating on her. Personally, I think Perez needs to relax a little with some of his harsh words. He is known for drawing on the pictures he includes in each post.
Being a celebrity journalist/columnist and reporting their every move is okay if done correctly, but sometimes I think he targets certain people just for S's & G's (shits & giggles). Lily pretty much owned Perez's ass in this brutal e-war. I love it!
Anyway, its time for me to get into bed. Today's been one hell of a busy day and I'd like to get up somewhat early to get everything ready for my little girl! Until next time...
